Full Day Maldives Adventure Trip Timings & Fee
The full day Maldives adventure trip is generally conducted on all days of the week. In the inadvertent case of a cancellation due to government mandates or bad weather, you will be informed sufficiently in advance. One of the best Maldives full day tours, this one starts at 10 AM and finishes after sunset, at about 6 PM.
For all adults (13+ years), the full day Maldives adventure trip price is USD 275 per head. If you are travelling with infants below the age of 5 years, it is complimentary for them. In case your children are between the ages of 6 years and 13 years, the fee is half the adult ticket price, which is USD 137.50 per child.
This Maldives day tour rate includes all of the local Maldivian taxes, so there is no need to budget for any excess expenditure. A 16% GST and an additional 10% service charge are added to the base tour price. The fee is inclusive of return speedboat transfer from the public islands of Malé or Hulhumalé, hedika tasting experience, snorkelling equipment on hire, buoyancy aid, lunch and local tour guide charges.
Full Day Maldives Adventure Trip Experience
One of the best additions to your Maldives vacation package, the full day Maldives adventure trip is a real bang for the buck. The tour includes two snorkelling experiences, a visit to a local island, some time on a sandbank, and a sunset cruise with a chance to spot Maldivian dolphins. Discover all the details below:
Customized Pickup
Begin your full day tour right after breakfast as you meet the guide at the Hulhumalé Main Jetty which is next to the ferry terminal. If you happen to be on the island of Malé – capital city of The Maldives, you can be picked up from there as well.
The local Maldivian guide will wait for all the tour participants at the meeting point to greet everyone. You can also request for a collection from your hotel in either Malé or Hulhumalé. This is only on special request, and must be intimated beforehand.
For a totally exclusive reception from your Maldives water villa in a private island resort, you can be picked up on a cruise tender jetty basis. In this case, you will have to ensure that your resort allows our speedboat to enter into their private waters and dock at their jetty. This service will be charged over and above the tour price.
Relax on a Sandbank
Right at the outset, we cruise to a secluded sandbank, located about 40 minutes from Malé – the world’s smallest capital. This little patch of paradise in the middle of a blue lagoon is perfect to rejuvenate and get pepped up for the rest of the day.
The untouched sandbank is ideal for a breakfast picnic on the soft sands or just sunbathing to work on your vacation tan. You can catch 40 winks under the shade of a parasol, go on a swim in the clear, warm waters or even practise some snorkelling on the house reef.
Snorkelling in Transit
As you move along on the speedboat with your private tour guide towards a public island, there will be an opportunity to snorkel at a dive site on the way. The full day Maldives adventure trip comprises two snorkelling dives, both close to Malé. You will either get to visit both the snorkelling points en route or have the second snorkelling session after lunch. The dive sites are selected on the day by the expert guide as per the weather conditions and ocean currents, to ensure good underwater sightings.
Before you snorkel, you will be briefed about responsible snorkelling practices which include maintaining a distance from marine life, not touching the turtles and not trying to squeeze any soft corals. You will additionally be given snorkels, eye-masks, fins and a lifejacket, along with safety instructions on your snorkelling tour. It is recommended to wear suitable snorkelling outfits made of materials such as lycra, spandex or other sweat-wicking fabrics that dry quickly and don’t wear you down by absorbing water.
The tour guide acts as a spotter, pointing out exotic flora and unique tropical fauna in Maldives’ coral reef ecosystem. You can refer to the Fish ID card provided by us to get the names of all the colourful fish, sharks, rays, turtles and starfish you spot while snorkelling in the Maldives.
Those who cannot swim or are not confident of their swimming skills can use additional buoyancy aids. Non-swimmers can remain close to the experienced guides who will also be a snorkelling coach for beginners. The snorkelling guide will do his best to make you feel comfortable in your gear and also ensure that you feel safe enough to enjoy all the activities.
Visit to Local Island Huraa
After a joyful time spent underwater, we cruise to the beautiful local island of Huraa, located to the north of Malé. This inhabited isle is a small Maldivian village, notable for its mangrove ecosystem fuelled by the presence of a freshwater lake, which is a rare phenomenon in the otherwise saline ocean.
Understand the simple lifestyle of the villagers as the local guide explains to you their unique traditions and culture. You will be taken on a walk to the island’s mangrove swamps to observe the dense foliage and the freshwater lake that is home to sweet water fish and other life forms. Here, you will be made aware of Huraa’s fragile mangrove ecosystem and the steps that certain environmentally conscious NGOs are taking to preserve the natural heritage of this village.
In the course of your exploration of Huraa, you will also be shown how traditional Maldivian dry fish is made. Next up, you will be taken to the local boat building yard to watch first-hand how the Dhivehi people construct dhonis – their traditional boats, which is one of their sources of livelihood in this archipelago.
Later on, lunch will be served at a local café by the beach. Enjoy your tropical lunch of flavoursome Maldivian curries, savoury bites, fresh fruits and indigenous seafood prepared in aromatic spices.
You can then chill on a jolie seat which is a special kind of Maldivian hammock that is suited for only sitting, almost like a rope-swing. Otherwise, browse through the local souvenir shops of Huraa. Buy a memento such as fridge magnets, coasters, key chains, postcards, purses or handbags for your friends and family back home. You can also purchase indigenous handicrafts made of coconut coir, shell or other items for keepsake.
Dolphin Sighting during the Return to Hulhumalé
The final leg of the full day Maldives adventure trip includes a sunset cruise across the scenic backdrop of the azure Indian Ocean. Your speed boat captain will steer the vessel to the east of Hulhumalé where there is a heightened chance of sighting dolphins in a channel.
While there is no guarantee of spotting these friendly mammals, the captain does his best to maximize the chances of watching Maldivian dolphins during dusk, when the sun paints the sky in a myriad of colours. The picture of dolphins leaping out of the waters in the sunset is unforgettable, to say the least. The day ends with your drop to Malé or Hulhumalé and countless memories which you might have captured along the way.
If it is your first time to the beautiful islands of The Maldives, book your vacation through an experienced tour operator to ensure that the process is hassle free. Once you figure out the airline that will fly you down to the Maldives Velana International Airport, you’re all set for an unforgettable time in the heart of the Indian Ocean!
For a vacation that’s both relaxing and informative, you can explore Maldives’ island hopping tours, breakfast cruises, submarine rides, beachside movie screenings, fishing trips and guided walks in various islands. Couples can look for Maldives’ honeymoon packages to make the most of this romantic destination.
If you wish to know this Asian country in more ways than one, check out other tours in addition to the full day Maldives adventure trip. There are tours around the interesting water sports of this group of islands. Try out flyboarding, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, banana riding, fun tubes, mono skiing, kite surfing, glass bottom boat rides, and many other water sport activities in the Maldives.
